Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Monkeys – Khnifra – Imilchil.
In the morning, the 5-day Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech departs from your Riad. After
that, proceed to the mountains, stopping first in Ifrane. In addition, the cedar forest is home to
monkeys. Khnifra is where the Sahara Tour will have lunch. Travel to Imilchil, a tiny community
well-known for its yearly Betrothal Festival. This unique and culturally rich celebration brings
the local Berber clans together to plan marriages. A major social and cultural event, the festival
usually takes place in September. Young people from other villages come in their typical clothes
to meet partners.
Imilchil is surrounded by beautiful high-altitude lakes, including Lake Isle and Lake Tislit.
Because of their stunning hillside location, these lakes are a popular spot for photographers and
wildlife enthusiasts. A local legend about star-crossed lovers gave rise to the names of the
lakes, the “Bride and the Groom.”
Spend the night at Imilchil.
Day 2: Imilchil – Agoudal – Msemrir – Dades Canyon.
Your Morocco travel schedule starts at your Imilchil hotel as usual. Then, the tour of
Morocco reveals the breathtaking landscape and rock formations of the High Atlas Mountains.
Agoudal and Msemrir are two of the villages you will pass through; if you have the chance, you
may visit their weekly market. Before getting into your hotel in Dades Valley, the
desert trip continues to Dades Gorge for a stroll and a rest along the well-known Tessadrin
roadway for stunning photos.
Spend the night in the Dades Valley.
Day 3: Dades – Todra Canyon – Tinjdad – Arfoud – Desert Tents.
The Dades Valley is where your Morocco trip begins, heading towards the Sahara Desert.
The rock formation that looks like a monkey's fingers will be the earliest to break. Additionally,
you pass through Tinghir, which provides a panoramic view of the historic Berber towns, on
your way to Todra Gorge. Many rock climbers practise their skills on the 400-meter-high red
cliffs that you will traverse when you first arrive at the Gorge. You'll travel towards Erfoud via
Malaab and Tinjdad, where you break for lunch.
Furthermore, you can ride camels to your camp after you reach the Sahara Desert in the
afternoon. Moreover, stopping along the way to take in the beauty of the sunset over the
dunes. After that, you will relax in the desert in the evening while admiring the starry night sky
and listening to music.

In the morning, you will be woken up early by your Desert Tour to witness the most
spectacular dawn of your life. You subsequently enjoy breakfast and take a shower at the
desert tents before returning to Merzouga to begin your tour. The first stop will be Rissani to
see its renowned gate from the 20th century and its weekly market. Tazarine and Nkoub, two
settlements known for the Hannaa boshes, are traversed on the way to Agdaz.
Before travelling across the Anti-Atlas Mountains and reaching Ouarzazate, there will be a stop
in Agdz to take in the views of the Daraa Valley. Moreover, you will have a look at the well-
known Taourirt Kasbah and Cinema Studio in Ouarzazate before heading to your hotel.
Overnight at your hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 5: Ouarzazate – Kasbah – High Atlas – Marrakech.
The desert excursion will start in the morning from your hotel. The Studio is the location of
the first visit. Additionally, you visit and explore Ait Ben Haddou, a famous Kasbah in Morocco.
Furthermore, this magnificent stage, which was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in
1987, has been used for filming a number of films, such as The Odyssey and Game of Thrones.
Nonetheless, the Desert tour route to Marrakech continues via the High Atlas Mountains, with
multiple stops planned to capture photographs of the Berber settlements and the surrounding
countryside.
You will arrive in Marrakech once you have crossed the highlands. Then, our guide is going to

Before You Come to Morocco
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip, here are the key things to know before arriving in Morocco.
- Most travelers can enter Morocco without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, but you should always check your country’s specific entry requirements. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date.
- Morocco’s main international airports are located in Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, Tangier, Fes, and Agadir. Booking flights early is recommended, especially during peak travel seasons.
- Travel insurance is highly recommended and should cover medical care, trip interruptions, and lost luggage. The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). While credit cards are accepted in many hotels and major shops, it’s always good to carry some cash for souks, small towns, and local purchases.
- Morocco’s climate varies from the coast to the desert and mountains, so pack light clothing for daytime and a warmer layer for cooler evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, and modest clothing is appreciated when visiting mosques or rural areas.
- There are no mandatory vaccines for entry, but basic vaccinations are recommended. Tap water is generally safe in cities, though many visitors prefer bottled water. Morocco is a safe and welcoming country—just follow standard travel precautions.
- Arabic and Amazigh are the official languages, but French and English are widely spoken in tourist areas. Learning a few simple phrases like Salam or Shukran is always appreciated.
- Respecting local customs helps enrich your experience. Bargaining is a common part of shopping in markets, so feel free to enjoy the friendly negotiation.
- For packing, bring your passport, essential documents, light and comfortable clothing, sun protection, a portable charger, and a small first-aid kit.
