Day 1: Fes - Ifrane - Cedar Forest - Ziz Valley- Camels - Desert Camp.

Your 3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech begins with a pick-up from your
accommodation in Fes. The adventure begins with a scenic drive toward the Sahara Desert,
with your first stop in Ifrane, referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” The Sahara Tour
continues through the Cedar Forest, where you’ll see Barbary monkeys. From there, the
journey leads to Midelt. You’ll then cross the Tizi N’Talghamt Pass, arriving at the breathtaking
Ziz Valley, known for its deep gorge and palm groves. After a short stop in Erfoud, a city
renowned for its fossils and dates, you’ll head toward Merzouga.
Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll meet your camels and embark on a memorable camel trek
across the dunes of Erg Chebbi. As the sun sets, you’ll reach your desert camp, enjoy a
traditional Moroccan dinner, listen to live Berber music, and gaze at the stars in the clear desert
sky.

Spend the night in the Camp

Wake up early to experience the mesmerizing sunrise over the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi
— truly one of the most unforgettable sights on Earth. After enjoying breakfast at the desert
camp, you'll return to Merzouga. The Desert tour continues to the historic town of Rissani,
once a bustling caravan center. Explore the vibrant market and soak in the local culture before
hitting the road again.
Along the way, stop to visit a fascinating underground irrigation system, a testament to ancient
desert ingenuity still in use today. Afterward, enjoy lunch in the town of Tinjdad. In the
afternoon, you'll explore the stunning Todra Gorge, a dramatic canyon known for its rock
climbers. Take time for a leisurely walk through the gorge.
Before reaching your hotel, make a final stop in the Dades Valley to admire the remarkable
“Monkey Fingers” rock formations, a unique and photogenic geological feature.

Overnight in Dades Valley.

On the final day of your desert adventure, depart from Dades Valley after breakfast. Your
first stop will be in Kalaa Mgouna. Here, you'll visit a local rose cooperative, where natural rose-
based products are made, and learn about the region’s famous rose festival and traditions.
The Sahara trip continues to Ouarzazate. You’ll have a chance to stop for photos or visit the
Atlas Studio. Next, head to the iconic Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
since 1986. This ancient fortified village has served as the backdrop for numerous famous
productions, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Enjoy a guided walk through its
labyrinthine alleys and admire the traditional earthen architecture. As you leave Ait
Benhaddou, the road winds through the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka
Pass, rising to an altitude of 2,260 meters. Along the way, take in breathtaking panoramic views

Before You Come to Morocco

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip, here are the key things to know before arriving in Morocco.

  • Most travelers can enter Morocco without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, but you should always check your country’s specific entry requirements. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from your arrival date.
  • Morocco’s main international airports are located in Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, Tangier, Fes, and Agadir. Booking flights early is recommended, especially during peak travel seasons.
  • Travel insurance is highly recommended and should cover medical care, trip interruptions, and lost luggage. The local currency is the Moroccan Dirham (MAD). While credit cards are accepted in many hotels and major shops, it’s always good to carry some cash for souks, small towns, and local purchases.
  • Morocco’s climate varies from the coast to the desert and mountains, so pack light clothing for daytime and a warmer layer for cooler evenings. Comfortable walking shoes are essential, and modest clothing is appreciated when visiting mosques or rural areas.
  • There are no mandatory vaccines for entry, but basic vaccinations are recommended. Tap water is generally safe in cities, though many visitors prefer bottled water. Morocco is a safe and welcoming country—just follow standard travel precautions.
  • Arabic and Amazigh are the official languages, but French and English are widely spoken in tourist areas. Learning a few simple phrases like Salam or Shukran is always appreciated.
  • Respecting local customs helps enrich your experience. Bargaining is a common part of shopping in markets, so feel free to enjoy the friendly negotiation.
  • For packing, bring your passport, essential documents, light and comfortable clothing, sun protection, a portable charger, and a small first-aid kit.
